Patent No. 590342 Disclosed is a method of localizing a hydrophilic biofunctional moiety (F) to a surface comprising the step of contacting the surface with an aqueous solution of a water dispersible construct of the structure F-S-S' where F is the biofunctional moiety, S is a spacer covalently linking F to S', and S' is sterol. Also disclosed is an aqueous solution of a water dispersible construct of the formula I, where F is a hydrophilic biofunctional moiety, S' is sterol, and a is the integer 2, 3 or 4.
