The invention relates to a device for installing/dismantling a tire upon a rim body and a rim clamping apparatus. The rim clamping apparatus comprises a rod and an abutting portion designed for abutting against the rim at the wheel hub, wherein the rod comprises a thread section and is capable of partly inserting into the hole of the wheel hub of the rim for being screwed inside a corresponding thread seat of the device; the thread section can move between the first operating position and the second separating position in the radial direction; and the thread section protrudes relative to the surface of the rod at the first operating position while the thread section is in the same level with the surface of the rod or inside the surface of the rod at the second separating position. The apparatus comprises a propelling device for driving the thread section to move between the first and second position.
