Proteins and nucleic acids from meningitis/sepsis-associated Escherichia Coli

Disclosed is the use of a peptide from a strain of E.coli responsible for neonatal meningitis (MNEC) and its related nucleic acid sequences, antibodies, medicaments and vaccines. The peptide can be used to treat infection by extraintestinal pathogenic E. coli (ExPEC), and meningitis/sepsis-associated E. coli infection.
