The profile (12) has a slit (14) with sealing lips (22) adapted to receive a strip of an element intended to cooperate with the profile. A protection key (16) is formed in shape of another strip intended to be placed in the slit. The key is connected to a board of the slit by a hinge zone (26) so as to allow extraction of the key from the slit by rotation movement around the hinge zone. The key extends in projection from the slit in an alignment with an outer face (34) of the profile when the key is inserted into the slit so as to bear against the face after rotation around the zone. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle.
