The present invention provides an interference coordination method between access points in a communication system and an access point device. The interference coordination method comprises: a sender access point determining average transmission strength parameter information of a resource element in at least one physical resource block, and transmitting the average transmission strength parameter information of the resource element in the at least one physical resource block to an adjacent access point, the average transmission strength parameter information of the resource element in the at least one physical resource block being used for performing interference coordination between the sender access point and the receiver access point. The access point device comprises: a determining module, used for determining average transmission strength parameter information of a resource element in at least one physical resource block; and a transmitting module, used for transmitting the average transmission strength parameter information of the resource element in the at least one physical resource block to an adjacent access point. The technical solutions of the present invention can effectively perform interference coordination between access points in a heterogeneous communication system.
