PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink for an ink-jet recording apparatus which can control discharge failure of the ink when forming an image after a some period of time without discharging the ink from a recording head, generation of a stain on the image by flying of a satellite droplet, and viscosity change of the ink even when exposed to a high temperature environment for a long period of time, and to provide an image forming method using the ink-jet recording apparatus.SOLUTION: An ink for an ink-jet recording apparatuses includes water, a pigment dispersion, an organic solvent, and a humectant. The pigment dispersion includes a pigment and a resin having a mass average molecular weight of 35,000-140,000. An adsorbed resin proportion obtained from the mass of the total amount of the resin in the ink and the mass of the resin separated from the pigment among the resin is at least 0.97. The ink includes 3-15 mass% of a 1-4C monoalkyl ether of polyhydric alcohol based on the mass of the ink as the organic solvent. |
