PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve device that can strike a balance between cost reduction and highly-accurate positioning.SOLUTION: A variable valve device includes: a camshaft 10; a cam piece 12 that is disposed slidable in an axial direction of the camshaft 10, and where a groove 26 in a surface 12a facing the camshaft 10 is provided; and a lock ball 32a biased in a radial direction of the camshaft 10 and engaged with the groove. The groove 26 is the variable device having an asymmetrical shape to the radial direction of the camshaft 10 as the basis for the deepest portion 26a of the groove 26. |
