PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for increasing the strength of a glass substrate in which warping and/or deformation of the glass substrate does not easily occur.SOLUTION: In a method for increasing the strength of a glass substrate, (a) a glass substrate is prepared that has a first surface and a second surface that face each other, (b) ease of removing alkali metal from the first surface and the second surface is evaluated, (c) based on (b), plasma processing is performed on the first surface and the second surface of the glass substrate such that the ease of alkali metal removal becomes substantially the same as the ease of the first surface and the second surface, and (d) after (c), chemical strengthening treatment is performed on the glass substrate. |
