PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect abnormality in combustion catalyst in a fuel cell system surely in its early stages.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system comprises: a fuel cell 24 which generates electricity by fuel and oxidant gas; a reformer unit 23 which generates fuel from reforming raw material and reforming water and supplies generated fuel to the fuel cell; a first combustion unit 26 which introduces combustible gas including unused fuel from the fuel cell 24 and burns it with the oxidant gas to derive combustion gas; a second combustion unit 28 which introduces unused combustible gas discharged from the first combustion unit and burns it to derive; and a determination unit (control device 60) which, when the first combustion unit 26 is not in a burning state although combustible gas and oxidant gas are supplied and a temperature change amount in the second combustion unit 28 is equal to or greater than a predetermined value, determines that the second combustion unit 28 is normal, or otherwise, determines that the second combustion unit 28 is abnormal. |
