<p>The device has high voltage components automatically deactivated and/or discharge units (4.3) activated for contact safe discharge of energy storages (18), during dropping of voltage of a low voltage on-board network battery (17) and/or low voltage on-board network voltage below a critical voltage level. Activation of the discharge units is realized by an active circuit component, which obtains power supply voltage from high voltage components to be discharged. The active circuit component is a self-controllable component. The high voltage components comprise a power switch/contactor (3), a control unit (4) and a wheel hub motor/wheel hub prime mover/electric machine (6), high voltage lines (10, 11) and a contact connector (12). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a monitoring device for contact protection of a vehicle provided with an electric drive machine.</p> |
