摘要 An array substrate for an IPS(In-Plane Switching) mode LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to prevent the generation of flicker by increasing the capacitance of a storage capacitor without lowering of the aperture ratio. A gate line(105) is extended toward a direction on a substrate having the defined pixel area. A common line(110) is formed in parallel to the gate line with a constant distance and forms the first storage electrode within the pixel area. A gate insulating layer is formed on the entire surface of the gate and common lines. A data line(140) is formed on the gate insulating layer and crossed with the gate line so that a pixel area is formed. A TFT(Thin Film Transistor)(Tr) is connected with the gate and data lines and has source and drain electrodes separated to each other. The second storage electrode(149) is formed on the gate insulating layer, overlapped with the first storage electrode and connected with the drain electrode. A passivation layer is formed on the data line, the TFT and the second storage electrode and has a drain contact hole for exposing a portion of the drain electrode and a common line contact hole for exposing a portion of the common line. Plural pixel electrodes(175) are connected with the drain electrode. Plural common electrodes(179) are connected with the common lines. The outside common electrode among plural common electrodes is superposed to the second storage electrode by interposing the passivation layer so that the third storage electrode(171) is formed.
