PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which enables results of area extraction processing to be displayed with easily visually recognized colors for any target image without an additional burden of operation on a user.SOLUTION: A composite image is generated by synthesizing an extraction result image in a target image, and this composite image is displayed on a display device. When generating the extraction result image, all colors, or representative plural colors, are extracted from a pixel group within a boundary periphery area that includes the boundary between an estimated foreground area and an estimated background area and extends over both the estimated foreground area and the estimated background area, and the colors of the extraction result image are determined so as to be as different as possible from any of the extracted plural colors. |
