PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure that, when a path for communication which requires that a request message path and a response message path be the same is to be changed, resources associated with the path will be freed in early stages.SOLUTION: A relay device includes: a first data storage section which stores therein identification information on communication and a label assigned to a path for the communication by correlating them to each other; a second data storage section which stores therein a label and information on the destination of transfer by correlating them to each other; an update section which, when a path change request regarding first communication is received from a path control device, stores a changed new label and information on the destination of transfer in the second data storage section by correlating them to each other and also updates the first data storage section so that a label before being changed is changed to the changed new label; and a deletion section which, when, regarding the first communication, a response message for the request message transferred by a path before being changed is determined to have been received without omission, deletes the label before being changed and information on the destination of transfer corresponding to the label from the second data storage section. |
