PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic powder for water treatment excellent an adsorption performance of oil and also excellent in dispersion performance in water, and a water treatment method using the same.SOLUTION: A magnetic powder for water treatment adsorbs oil in water to be treated, is separated from the water to be treated together with the adsorbed oil to bring the separated matter in an immersed state in a washing liquid, is magnetically separated from the adsorbed oil in the separated matter in the washing liquid, and is recovered to be used repeatedly. The magnetic powder includes a magnetic carrier consisting of a porous magnetic particle whose average particle size is 15-90 μm, and a coating layer supported to the magnetism carrier to cover the magnetic carrier and containing a fluorine organic compound with a coverage of 50-20,000 μg/g in terms of fluorine. |
