Provided are a setting device, a battery assembly and a setting method which enable the accumulation of state-of-charge (SOC) errors to be prevented. The setting device, which determines the SOC of a battery unit to be set among a plurality of battery units, includes: a state setting means for putting a battery unit in a prescribed state, namely, a fully-charged state or a fully-discharged state; a plurality of first switches, each of which corresponds to each of the plurality of battery units and is disposed between the corresponding battery unit and the state setting means; a second plurality of switches, each of which corresponds to each of the plurality of battery units and is disposed between the corresponding battery unit and a power line; and a control means that switches on a first switch, which corresponds to the battery unit to be set, among the plurality of first switches, switches on a second switch among the plurality of second switches other than the second switch corresponding to the battery unit to be set, and determines that the SOC of the battery unit to be set is at a value corresponding to a prescribed state when the state setting means puts the battery unit to be set in the prescribed state. |
