This insertion device is provided with: an up/down knob, the outer periphery of which is notched into concave recesses having a curvature and size that enable the base of a thumb to attach firmly thereto; and a right/left knob that is stacked at the same center of rotation as the up/down knob. The insertion device is configured in such a manner that the thumb wraps around the up/down knob, and the base of the thumb comes into contact with the deepest part of a recess on the up/down knob; and the right/left knob exists so as to be operable within a range that the thumb can move, which exceeds that of the up/down knob. By using the right/left knob to drive a motor, a bending section is bent by rotating the right/left knob with a finger tip. |
