The method involves producing a deflection body (12) with a mirror-like mirror surface (14), which forms a deflection section (16) in sections. A vitreous body (22) is die cast with a transparent material (24) on the deflection body such that it encloses the deflection section. The deflection body made of plastic is produced by injection molding process or die casting process. The mirror- like mirror surface is applied on the deflection body in the form of a metal layer or a multi-layer coating. An independent claim is included for a light guide body with fixing or reinforcing elements arranged on the deflection section.
