PURPOSE: An information providing system of a packing material and an information providing method are provided to be used for an information providing function by responding to a digital device, thereby being utilized as a marketing means. CONSTITUTION: An information providing server provides an additional information service of a packing material. The packing material is composed of an RFID-TAG (7) or an optical code (3) in which a specific web address is recorded for the additional information service of the packing material. The packing material includes a data record tag composed of the RFID-TAG and the optical code. A cellular phone or a computer includes an RFID-TAG reader or an optical reader. The optical code is a quick response (QR) code or PDF417. The RFID-TAG includes identification password information, an issue identification number (5), a telephone number, a web page, and a web element address of a providing company.
