PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce useless encryption processing and prevent encryption omission properly without requiring specification of an individual concrete encryption condition.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus includes: application operation file information holding means 101 for holding application operation file information, which is information relating to a file which an application has activated and operated so far and indicative of whether or not the application has opened one or more encryption files; and encryption discriminating means 102 for discriminating, with respect to an arbitrary file closed by an arbitrary application, whether or not the file is to be an object of encryption on the basis of the application operation file information held for the application which has performed the operation to close the file.
