PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst with which an α-olefine polymer can be manufactured in which rigidity and density is enhanced, noncrystalline component is further reduced, stereoregularity is improved or a sticky component is made small and to provide a method for manufacturing the α-olefine polymer using the catalyst.SOLUTION: A solid catalytic component and a catalyst for α-olefine polymerization are prepared by contact-treating a solid catalytic components containing magnesium, titanium, halogen and an electron donating compound as essential ingredients with a pyridine compound having a ≥4C tertiary hydrocarbon group and expressed by formula (1) ( in the formula, Ris ≥4C tertiary hydrocarbon group and each of Rcan be the same or different and Rexpresses hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group and each of Rcan be the same or different).
