PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus detection device that can perform accurate focus detection without relying on a contour shape of a subject.SOLUTION: A focus detection device comprises: an imaging and focus detection element in which a plurality of pixels including a pixel having a first, second and third pixel arrays consisting of a focus detection pixel arranged in parallel with each other is arranged in a two-dimensional manner; and image deviation detection means that detects image deviation of a subject image by performing correlation calculation among a first, second and third output signal arrays respectively output from the first, second and third pixel arrays. The first pixel array consists of any of a first pixel receiving at least both of a pair of light fluxes respectively passing through a pair of pupil areas of an imaging optical system, a second pixel not receiving at least one of the pair of light fluxes and a third pixel not receiving at least the other of the pair of light fluxes. The second pixel array and the third pixel array respectively consist of a pixel different from the pixel consisting of the first pixel array out of the first pixel, the second pixel and the third pixel. |
