One embodiment of the present invention provides an electrochemical cell which comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a sulfide solid electrolyte layer and an oxide solid electrolyte layer. The positive electrode contains positive electrode active material particles which absorb and desorb lithium ions at a potential of 3 V or more (based on lithium potential). The sulfide solid electrolyte layer is bonded to the negative electrode. The oxide solid electrolyte layer covers the surfaces of the positive electrode active material particles, and has a thickness of 0.5 mum or less.
