The washing device is equipped with: a container (10) in which an aqueous solution is stored; an adsorption electrode (11), which is disposed inside the container (10) and on which adsorption and desorption of ions in the aqueous solution are possible; a counter electrode (12) disposed inside the container (10) so as to face the adsorption electrode (11); a direct current power source (20) for applying a voltage between the adsorption electrode (11) and the counter electrode (12); and a switching circuit (30) for switching the polarity of the voltage applied between the adsorption electrode (11) and the counter electrode (12). A control device (40) controls the direct current power source (20) and the switching circuit (30) and is provided with a first mode, which generates a first functional water by using the adsorption electrode (11) as the anode and the counter electrode (12) as the cathode and releasing cations into the aqueous solution from the adsorption electrode (11) or adsorbing anions in the aqueous solution onto the adsorption electrode (11). Provided thereby is a washing device capable of efficiently generating hardness-adjusted or pH-adjusted functional water with a simple configuration.
