The method involves carrying out adjustment of control parameter based on a determined driving state. The driving state is determined based on information whether a hand of a driver of a vehicle is present on a steering wheel and/or whether the vehicle exits in a current traffic lane. Supplementary individual handling of the driver is accounted during controlling the control parameter. A determination is made whether the driver has vehicle under control based on the driving state. Health- and/or tiredness states of the driver are determined based on the determined driving state. An independent claim is also included for a safety-relevant system for a vehicle.
