PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing apparatus and a method capable of capturing images that have undergone Auto Focus (AF), in a mobile terminal.SOLUTION: The image capturing apparatus in a mobile terminal includes: a camera module; and a controller for determining whether a captured frame has undergone AF if a 'capture' entry is selected while performing Continuous Auto Focus (CAF) in a preview mode, and for performing AF on the captured frame if the captured frame has not undergone AF.
