PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system that is advantageous in performing system abnormality determination at an early stage as much as possible with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A control part 100 causes a power generation operation of a stack 12 to be performed and then stopped and performs abnormality determination processing at the time of the stop of the power generation operation. In the abnormality determination processing, under a state where cathode gas exists at a cathode 11 of the stack 12, the control part 100 reduces a flow rate per unit time of fuel gas, which is supplied to an anode 10 of the stack 12, from that before the abnormality determination processing, and detects OCV of the stack 12 by means of an open circuit voltage detection element 125. When a state where the detected OCV is lower than an allowable voltage value continues for a first prescribed time &bgr;1 or longer and/or when there occurs hunting where the detected OCV repeatedly rises and falls with respect to the allowable voltage value, the control part 100 determines that there occurs a system abnormality. |
