摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a hybrid vehicle that can control or prevent generation of a shock or a sense of incompatibility at the engine startup, while surely performing engine startup to evade an excessive decrease of an SOC (state of charge) in EV traveling.SOLUTION: There is provided a starting means (steps S2-S5) that starts an internal combustion engine by rising the engine speed of the internal combustion engine by output of a first electric motor, when the required drive power becomes a prescribed value δ or less, when an SOC of a battery is between a first threshold α and a second threshold &bgr;, in an EV traveling to travel by only an electric motor as a drive power source in a state where driving of the internal combustion engine is stopped and rotation of an output shaft of the internal combustion engine is stopped by a fixing means, and starts the internal combustion engine by rising the engine speed of the internal combustion engine by output of the first electric motor, regardless of the magnitude of the required drive power when the SOC is lower than the second threshold &bgr;.
