PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a normally-black type TN liquid crystal display in which, when watched obliquely from a left side and a right side, an excellent dark condition is obtained.SOLUTION: An angle between an absorption axis of one of polarizers and an orientation direction of an adjacent substrate is equal to or less than 5° relative to a twist direction of a liquid crystal layer at the moment when a light is transmitted from the one of polarizers to the other of the polarizers and is equal to or less than 2.5° relative to a direction opposite to the twist direction. An absorption axis of the other of the polarizers is rotated relative to the absorption axis of the one of polarizers in the direction opposite to the twist direction or in the twist direction by 90°, and then is rotated in the twist direction or the direction opposite to the twist direction by an angle calculated by subtracting 2.5°-15° from the twist direction. |
