PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dissolved oxygen concentration and an oxygen-supplying method optimal for efficiently producing a protein, in a method for producing the protein by culturing Escherichia coli capable of expressing the protein and obtained by transforming Escherichia coli with an expression vector containing a polynucleotide encoding the protein.SOLUTION: A method for producing a protein with gene recombination Escherichia coli comprises culturing recombination Escherichia coli obtained by transforming Escherichia coli with an expression vector containing a polynucleotide encoding the protein in a condition having a dissolved oxygen concentration of 10-60%. Specifically, the culture is carried out in a condition having an oxygen-moving speed of ≥200 mmol/(L-h), a gauge pressure of ≥0.05 MPa, or an oxygen partial pressure of ≥30% in a flowing gas. |
