PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a softened nonwoven fabric that can improve softness of a nonwoven fabric after processing and is less likely to deteriorate the tensile strength of the nonwoven fabric after processing.SOLUTION: The method for producing a softened nonwoven fabric uses a processing apparatus 1 provided with a first mold 21 and a second mold 22 for carrying out partial drawing. The first mold 21 and the second mold 22 have protrusions 211, 221 disposed regularly in Y and X directions, and recesses 212, 222 disposed between protrusions adjacent to each other in Y and X directions. The protrusion 211 of the first mold 21 is disposed in a position corresponding to a recess 222 of the second mold 22, and the protrusion 221 of the second mold 22 is disposed in a position corresponding to the recess 212 of the first mold 21. When contacting an apex of one of the protrusions 211, 221 to a bottom surface of the recesses 212, 222 on the other side to fully engaging the first mold 21 and the second mold 22, and viewing a flattened cross section at a position where the depth of the engagement is divided into two halves, there is a gap of 0.2 mm or more and 10 mm or less over the entire circumference. |
