The method involves determining a reference internal resistance as a function of a reference capacitance for mint reference power memory having the same design as the lithium ion-energy store. A reference characteristic map comprising reference internal resistance as function of reference capacitance is generated. A reference line is formed by linearization of the characteristic field values of the reference map in the form of a linear regression, and is used for determining the state characteristic of lithium ion energy store. An independent claim is included for a vehicle.
