PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation input device or the like using an electrostatic touch panel, which can prevent an error detection in a case when a palm or the like touches the vicinity of a frame part of the touch panel even when responsiveness linking a coordinate detection timing with a touch operation is required.SOLUTION: An operation input device includes: an electrostatic touch panel 1001 which is provided on a front surface of a display screen of display means 1000 for performing an operation input of an apparatus; close contact detection means 106 for detecting a close contact of a user's hand in the vicinity of frame parts 60a-60d of the touch panel; and coordinate detection means 106 for detecting a touch of the user on the touch panel, and reading a coordinate of the touched position. In a state where the close contact of the user's hand in the vicinity of the frame parts of the touch panel is detected by the close contact detection means, a touch detection area is changed so as not to count a touch detected by the coordinate detection means when the user touches the vicinity of the frame parts of the touch panel. |
