A motor vehicle (1) having a box (2) defining a rear luggage compartment (3), and a rear seat (6) having a backrest (8), the vehicle (1) being further provided with a device (10) for protecting against the intrusion of objects (4), which comprises a lower crosspiece (11) which extends transversely between the backrest (8) and the luggage compartment (3) in the vicinity of a lower edge (12) of the backrest (8), said crosspiece (11) being rigidly connected to the box (2) by two transversely opposed ends (13), tie rods (28) which connect the crosspiece (11) to the box (2) substantially vertically, each tie rod (28) having a lower section (29) by which it is rigidly connected to the lower crosspiece (11), and an upper section (30) by which it is rigidly connected to the box (2). |
