A terminal device is connected to a display device mounted in a mobile object to be communicable therewith. The similarity between an operation inputted to a first operation unit of the display device and an operation inputted to a second operation unit of the terminal device is determined. The operation inputted to the first operation unit is restricted on the basis of the traveling state of the mobile object and the result of the determination of the similarity between the operations. For example, when the two operations are performed at the same time, the operations are determined to be similar. Consequently, during the traveling of the mobile object, only when the operations inputted to the display device and the terminal device are similar, the operations can be enabled.
