PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of favorably maintaining sealability and obtaining excellent image quality even if a developer having high cohesive force is used.SOLUTION: There is provided a developing device which comprises: a developing container 40 for storing a developer; a developer carrier 41 provided at an opening of the developing container 40; and an entrance seal 48 which contacts with the developer carrier 41 near the opening of the developing container 40 to seal a gap between the developing container 40 and the developer carrier 41, wherein the developer has an accelerated agglomeration degree of 54% or more and a bite amount q of the entrance seal 48 to the developer carrier 41 is set to 0.4 mm or less.
