A basket style carrier comprising: a bottom wall (16/18), first and second side walls (12, 14), end walls (32/34/36/38, 26/28/30/40/42) interconnecting the first and second side walls, a handle panel (22, 24) and at least one retention structure (71/77/78/84/73/75/82/86/80). The retention structure extends between the handle panel and the first side wall and wherein the retention structure is hingedly connected to the handle panel by a fold line such that the fold line is substantially parallel to the bottom wall and is disposed at a maximum elevation that is below the elevation of the uppermost edge of the first side wall.
