PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing mask generation method capable of generating a high quality image processing mask without specifying the shape of a cluster, when generating an image processing mask.SOLUTION: The image processing mask generation method includes a calculation step for calculating the cluster energy at each point in an image processing mask, a ranking step for ranking in ascending order or descending order on the basis of the value of cluster energy calculated by the calculation step, and a threshold assignment step for assigning a threshold in the image processing mask on the basis of the rank, i.e., the processing result by the ranking step. Calculation of cluster energy by the calculation step is defined by the summation of interaction value f(|x-y|) having the distance |x-y| between a remark point x and a point y belonging to a cluster not including the remark point x as a variable. |
