PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejecting apparatus capable of washing away liquid adhered on a receiving surface by not allowing the liquid not to be solidified into a lumpy shape from the receiving surface using flow of waste liquid in the liquid ejecting apparatus having a receiving surface of the liquid discharged as the waste liquid from a liquid ejection head.SOLUTION: A liquid ejecting apparatus includes: a recording head where ink is ejected from a nozzle; a housing 28 having an ink receiving surface 30 which receives the ink flushed from the nozzle; a cap which moves between an abutting position capable of abutting on the recording head to surround the nozzle and a non-abutting position spaced apart from the abutting position; a suction pump which is driven when the ink is discharged as waste liquid from the recording head while the cap is at the abutting position; a waste ink supply tube 25 which discharges the waste liquid to the ink receiving surface 30 in the housing 28 by discharge pressure of the drive of the suction pump; and a waste ink discharge tube 26 which discharges the ink from the inside of the housing 28. |
