PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment system of soil contaminated with radioactive substances, which can make soil harmless and reuse the harmless soil by removing radioactive substances to be a contamination source from the soil contaminated with the radioactive substances and can reduce the amount of radioactive waste to be safely stored and managed without exerting influence on surrounding environments.SOLUTION: Soil contaminated with radioactive substances is made harmless by performing the steps of: immersing soil contaminated with radioactive substances in an aqueous solution obtained by dissolving ammonium nitrate or ammonium acetate at 60 to 80°C for one hour or more and eluting the radioactive substances; carrying out solid-liquid separation of the aqueous solution into which the radioactive substances are eluted and the soil, adding zeolite to the aqueous solution into which the radioactive substances separated in the solid-liquid separation are eluted and adsorbing and removing the radioactive substances; and adding sodium carbonate to the aqueous solution obtained after adsorption and removal by the zeolite and precipitating the remaining radioactive substances as carbonates. |
