[Class 64 (iii)] [Also in Group XXII] In a heat exchanger comprising a number of liquid flow pipes--fitted with metal fins, each flow pipe 5 is accommodated in a U-shaped metal trough 6 which is slotted to receive the fins, so that the provision of slots in the fins to receive the trough is avoided, the pipe being supported clear of the trough, which prevents hot gases from making direct contact with the pipe. According to the Provisional Specification the fins may be slotted.</p> |
