PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser element that has high optical output even if the semiconductor laser element is downsized.SOLUTION: A semiconductor laser element according to the present invention includes a substrate, and a semiconductor structure formed on the substrate and having three or more side surfaces. On one side surface of the semiconductor structure, a groove, which has a reflection surface that reflects light occurring in the semiconductor structure to the other side surfaces and an emission surface that emits the light occurring in the semiconductor structure, is provided. The light occurring in the semiconductor structure is resonant in a region formed by connecting the reflection surface, two or more side surfaces in which the groove is not provided, and the emission surface. |
