PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce burden of an administrator by associating authentication information (for example, a card number such as an IC card) with a user (for example, a user name) to register them even in an image forming apparatus which is difficult to input user information.SOLUTION: An authentication server comprises storing means for associating read object identification information for identifying a read object with user identification information of a user owning the read object to store them. The authentication server receives the read object identification information from an image forming apparatus, authenticates the user by using the received read object identification information, generates a read object identification information registration key for registering the read object identification information when it is determined that the user is not authorized, and transmits the read object identification information registration key to the image forming apparatus. The read object identification information registration key and the user identification information are obtained from an information processing apparatus, and the read object identification information and the user identification information are associated and registered. |
