PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which is capable of suppressing the occurrence of black stains even in an environment where an image with little motion is displayed on a liquid crystal panel for a long period of time.SOLUTION: A display control device includes: a brightness distribution detection unit which detects a brightness distribution from an input image signal inputted with time; a determination unit which determines whether or not a specific region having a brightness difference equal to or larger than a prescribed threshold exists in an image represented by the input image signal for a prescribed time or longer from the detected brightness distribution; and an image quality adjustment unit which, if the existence of the specific area for the prescribed time or longer is determined, reduces the brightness difference of the input image signal for an operation continuation time based on the prescribed time and displays the input image signal resulting from the reduction of the brightness difference, on a display unit. |
