PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device in which a press-contacting function of a press-contact roller is maintained at a first press-contact position and a second press-contact position of a pressure roller without making a device configuration complicated, and an image forming apparatus having the same.SOLUTION: A fixing device 17 includes a press-contact roller 230 for press-contacting by means of a second energization member 252 toward a pressure roller 174 in such a state as to be supported by a fixing part 251, which is fixed regardless of rotation of a supporting member 176. The press-contact roller 230 is supported by the fixing part 251 in such a manner that a central axis line &bgr;4 exists in an area between a first virtual straight line α1 formed by connecting a first contact point R1, where a surface of the pressure roller 174 at a first press-contact position is in contact with a virtual locus R, and a center &bgr;5 of a rotational fulcrum 176a, and a second virtual straight line α2 formed by connecting a second contact point R2, where a surface of the pressure roller 174 at a second press-contact position is in contact with the virtual locus R, and the center &bgr;5 of the rotational fulcrum 176a. |
