PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of accurately determining whether a cover provided to a housing is in an open posture or a closed posture.SOLUTION: A cover 25 for maintenance is provided on a side surface of an image forming apparatus 10. A cover switch 29 is provided near the cover. In the posture determination processing performed by a control part 60, not only a closing signal of the cover switch 29 but also a state signal showing the driving state of a heating roller 38 are used as a determination factor, thereby enabling accurately determining whether the cover 25 is in an open posture or a closed posture and thus preventing an erroneous determination that the cover 25 in an open posture is erroneously determined as a closed posture. |
