PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust core that attain both high-level specific resistance and magnetic flux density, and powder for magnetic core suitable thereto.SOLUTION: Powder for magnetic core is made of soft magnetic particles each coated with a ferrite coating made of spinel ferrite as a compound represented by MFeOconsisting of a metal element (M) to become a bivalent metal positive ion, iron (Fe), and oxygen (O). The soft magnetic particles have a particle size of 50-250 μm, the ferrite coating has an average film thickness of 10-200 nm, and M in the ferrite coating includes at least manganese (Mn). The dust core molded out of the powder for magnetic core by compression has both specific resistance and magnetic flux density at higher level than a conventional dust core made of soft magnetic particles coated with ferrite coatings. When this dust core is used for a motor core, etc., a motor which has high torque and high efficiency is obtained while made compact and lightweight. |
