<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid ensuring the response and pressure resistance. <P>SOLUTION: A solenoid 1 in which a shaft 5, joined to a plunger 4, is moved in its axial direction to drive a base unit includes a magnetic circuit that introduces a magnetic field generated around a coil 12 to the plunger 4; the magnetic circuit is formed by a case 9, a base 2, and a sleeve 3, which are made of a magnetic material.
