PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating vascular diseases is provided to suppress NO generation and neointimal formation, thereby effectively preventing or suppressing vascular diseases. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating vascular diseases contains 0.5 wt% or less of myristicin and 10-30 wt % of an ethanol solution extract of Myristica fragrans. The ethanol solution contains one or more compounds selected among nectandrin A, fragransin C1, verrucosin, saucernetindiol, tetrahydrofuroguaiacin, and nectandrin B of chemical formula 1. The pharmaceutical composition suppresses NO generation and neointimal formation caused by phosphorylation of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS). |
