The present invention concerns a process of editing photographs by means of hardware devices (1) equipped with at least one display screen (10), characterised in that a sliding command in one first predetermined direction (Ml) selects at least one photograph (PI, P4 ) to be edited belonging to a predetermined series of photographs (15), and a second sliding command in a second predetermined direction (M2), different from the first direction (Ml), displays on the screen said at least one photograph (Pl+El, P4+E1, P4+E2, P4+E3, P4+E4, P4+E5) edited according to at least one predetermined editing effect (El, E2, E3, E4, E5). Said process can be implemented by means of an application software installed in the hardware devices.
