Method for data acquisition by an image sensor

The method involves providing a holographic storage medium (4) that contains binary information in form of two dimensional data page. The data page is exposed by a laser beam bundle and is read out by an image sensor such as complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) (2). An active area (3) in the sensor is subdivided into regions (2.1, 2.2) that are read separately from one another with different parameters. The different regions are exposed for different lengths of time before the regions are read. The regions are read spirally from inside to outside or from the outside to the inside. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for reading from and/or writing to a holographic storage media.
